On May 1st, Lit New Haven officially celebrated one full year in business. And honestly? I’m still taking it all in.
What started as a vision, a prayer, and a purpose has grown into something so much bigger than a dispensary. Because of YOU, Lit New Haven has become a place where community, healing, culture, education, wellness, and opportunity all come together under one roof.
And if I can be a little biased for a moment…
Thank you for making us the best dispensary in New Haven—and honestly, the best in the state too, if I say so myself. 💜🔥
To God be the glory for every lesson, every customer, every event, every challenge, every breakthrough, and every person who has supported us this past year.

More Than Cannabis. A Whole Community.
From day one, Lit New Haven was never meant to be just a place to purchase cannabis. We built this space intentionally—as a safe, welcoming, Black woman-owned, social equity-centered business rooted in purpose and reinvestment.
Over this past year, we’ve:
- Hosted Lit Lot vendor markets supporting local entrepreneurs
- Created spaces for wellness through Trap Yoga, boxing fitness, and self-care events
- Brought people together through Movie Nights, Karaoke Nights, Comedy Nights, and Retro Vinyl Nights
- Hosted Cannabis 101 educational sessions
- Held credit repair workshops, homebuyer classes, and Financially Lit business education events
- Opened our doors for community conversations around violence prevention, healing, and mental health
- Launched the #WeCare Campaign to remind our city that lives matter and healing matters
- Highlighted neighborhoods across New Haven and welcomed residents from every corner of our city into the Lit family
And through all of it, one thing has stayed constant:
Community comes first.

A Year of Real Impact
This year, Lit New Haven served thousands of customers, employed local residents, supported local vendors, and continued proving that social equity can be more than a talking point—it can be real, visible, and successful.
We’ve welcomed first-time cannabis consumers, seasoned supporters, college students, grandparents, professionals, artists, and people who simply needed a safe space to breathe and feel connected.
We’ve laughed together. Learned together. Healed together.
And that means everything to me.

Summer at Lit Is About to Be Different ☀️🔥
Now that the weather is finally warming up again, we’re excited to fully activate our outdoor spaces and bring the energy back outside.
The Lit Lot is coming alive this summer with:
- Vendor markets
- Outdoor movie nights
- Live music & DJs
- Wellness events
- Community conversations
- Food trucks
- Creative experiences
- And plenty of opportunities to just vibe together safely and intentionally
There’s something special about gathering outside in community during the summertime in New Haven. And we can’t wait to create more memories with all of you right here at 169 East Street.
Bring your lawn chair. Bring your people. Bring your energy.

Thank You for Believing in Us
Running a social equity dispensary is not easy. Building something rooted in purpose while staying true to the community takes work, sacrifice, and faith.
But every time someone walks through our doors and says:
“This place feels different.”
…I know we’re doing exactly what we were called to do.
Thank you for every purchase. Every event attendance. Every social media share. Every Google review. Every recommendation to a friend. Every hug. Every prayer.
Thank you for helping us make history.
And trust me—we’re just getting started.
With gratitude, healing, joy & purpose,
Kebra Smith-Bolden
