Kebra Smith-Bolden

Owner and General Manager

Kebra Smith-Bolden is a trailblazing minority woman-owned cannabis entrepreneur and industry leader. After founding CannaHealth, LLC in 2017—the first and only legal cannabis business in Connecticut owned by a person of color—she has certified thousands of patients statewide to obtain medical cannabis cards. A fierce advocate for equitable cannabis legislation, she played a pivotal role in the passage of An Act Concerning the Equitable and Responsible Regulation of Cannabis, working with WomenGrow CT, serving as President of CT United for Reform and Advocacy, and as a member of Governor Ned Lamont’s Cannabis Social Equity Working Group.

Kebra is the Owner and CEO of Lit New Haven, the only adult-use cannabis dispensary owned by a Black Woman, as well as CEO of Lit Cultivation, a state-approved cannabis cultivation company. She currently serves on the board of SuperNova Women, a national organization supporting women in the cannabis industry.

With over 20 years of experience as a registered nurse, Kebra continues her work in healthcare as a Violence Prevention Professional (VPP) with CT VIP. She is also an active community leader, serving on the Hamden Juvenile Review Board and as a member of the Bereavement Care Network. Additionally, she is on the Board of Directors for the Greater New Haven YMCA and Next Level Empowerment, and serves on The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and The Crime in New Haven Steering Committee.

Kebra is an esteemed member of the Southern Connecticut Black Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, where she was recognized for Leadership in Nursing. She is currently an honor student at Purdue Global University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning a place on the Chancellor’s List, with a goal to earn her doctorate by 2027.

Her work continues to center on advocacy, equity, and expanding access to cannabis, healthcare, and economic opportunities for marginalized communities.
